About us
"SOFRA - Gender non-conforming Migrants e.V." is a Cologne-based association that emerged from the merger of "Rainbow Refugees Cologne Support Group e.V." and the self-organized meeting for LGBTIQ* refugees and migrants, "SOFRA". As the first LGBTIQ* migrant self-organization in NRW.
The association SOFRA Gay Migrants e.V. supports lesbian, gay, bisexual person, trans*, intersex and queer people with a history of flight and migration. The offers involve , in addition to individual case help and counseling, the monthly meeting place SOFRA Cologne, which as a self-organized offer of gathering refugees and migrants is an essential contact point for the target community, and SOFRA FLINTA* - self-organized give for the FLINTA target group. Beyond the target group-specific leisure activities and educational offers, the association advocates for the interests of LGBTIQ people who experience homophobia and transphobia as good as racism in urban and society politics.
