Thomas Gass, a dentist in California, has survived the curse—twice. The curse? Gass is a homosexual man whose only sexual attraction is to men significantly older than he is.
Gass lost his first partner, 28 years his senior, through the slowly decaying effects of Lou Gehrig’s disease after they had been together for 13 years. After recovering from his grief, he start love again with a male 18 years older but endured another tragic loss when his second partner died of pancreatic cancer after they had spent 17 years together. Still a relatively young man, Gass might wonder whether or not to take a chance on loving an older man again. For him, however, the choice is between an older man or no man at all. Gass and his friends—all of whom had lost older life partners—have labeled their abiding sexual attraction “the curse of being attracted to older men.”

We've all been there - at some point in our lives (usually before we smash 30) some older neighbor or teacher or shopkeeper or barber or boss decides he likes what he sees and starts flirting or steering the conversations towards sex. Maybe he's just talking, maybe he makes a movemaybe it's welcomed, maybe it scares the shit out of you.

Every once in awhile a film comes around that’s so repulsive that you leave it certain that the theatre is in need of fumigation, and get dwelling feeling a wish for a fast shower. “Spring Breakers” was such a monstrosity, and last year “Hot Tub Time Machine 2” filled the bill. Such a picture is the abysmal “Dirty Grandpa,” in which Danny Glover briefly appears as a character named Stinky, an adjective that also fits this malodorous mess perfectly.
Glover is relatively fortunate, though: he’s embarrassed for a mere sixty seconds or so. It’s Robert De Niro who really suffers here. He was once the gold standard among American actors, whose presence was a sort of insurance policy that even if a film didn’t work, it had some respectable ambition behind it. That reputation was tarnished by roles in tripe like “Meet the Fockers,” but it’s entirely trashed here, and in the process his co-star Zac Efron reaches a novel low as well.
