My fiancee and I recently got engaged and are starting to look at venues. We have chosen to have our ceremony in one place and our reception in another. We have lots of distinct reasons for this, but a big one is both of us care for the idea of quaint little English wedding reception in a village hall somewhere. Were in the UK where village halls crop up in every town and village. It may not be everyones cup of tea, but the below picture just melts my heart.
Where as it might be easy to find a venue for a civil partnership (as this is clearly marked on websites for venues), looking for a village hall is more difficult. The immense majority of village halls, although have no religious connotation or partnership to any religion any longer, are owned by the local church parish.
