First of all-I'm not gay, but in the mid to late 80's there was a adult video store in Gretna(on the Westbank Expressway) that many of the gays frequented. The meeting place was in the back where they had individual booths with economical XXX movie viewers.(I know this because I went there one particularly drunken night) The cops raided the place every so often until it finally closed down in ,I think I believe the two main homosexual bars had closed down also, one on BelleChase Highway, the other in old Gretna. There was a huge gay nightclub just outside the parameters of Lakeside Mall in Metarie that close

Nightlife & Bars in Baton Rouge

The nightlife in Baton Rouge offers something for every taste, from chic downtown spots to cozy venues with live song. The city's lively atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for a night out, whether you're looking to relax or party until dawn.

Start your exploration on Third Street, the heart of the city's nightlife scene and home to some of the foremost bars in Baton Rouge. This vibrant area boasts a variety of venues, each offering a unusual ambiance and experience. The Basin Music Hall features exist music and events in an energetic atmosphere. For a more minimal late hours out, check out 13 Social, a self-proclaimed eclectic dive bar with weekly events, specials, and no cover charge!

If you favor a more laid-back touch, Mid City offers a great alternative to the downtown scene. Cozy bars and hidden gems provide a more relaxed atmosphere, like Firehaus, an all-in-one wine bar, lounge, cigar patio, and rooftop block, perfect for a casual night out. Or attempt the unique open-air landscaped patio at Mid Municipality Beer Garden, offering ove

Current stereotypes of Baton Rouge “adult” bars…

Somewhere Bar that opened where old B&Ts was is kinda nice when I tried it out the other evening before the hockey game. I was expecting it to be dingy, but it was fairly nice and polish. They have nourishment too.

Mother's is awesome if you don't mind that it's gay - their food is really good for a bar too.

Patio Lounge is good vibes for a dive lock. I like this much better than The Jefferson. They keep it up more.

Duvics has been hit or miss lately, but still a staple. Although I'm 90% sure all the dents I discovered in the help of my unused SUV today came from me vanishing my car there overnight last week :/

Pelican to Mars is an eclectic crowd, but mostly people from the neighborhood.

Hayride Scandal is excellent for a mix of first dates, industry folks, and apparently the #1 swingers meetup in town.

Is ONOs still open?
